City of Fort Wayne Economic Development

Urban Enterprise Zone
"Promoting Business & Neighborhood Investment"

About the Program

The Fort Wayne Urban Enterprise Zone is a 4 square mile area located in the center part of the city.  It is a targeted area for physical revitalization, job creation and improvements in social and economic conditions. Residents and qualified businesses receive several tax benefits to encourage the stabilization of the Zone and reinvestment in the Zone. It provides excellent incentives to businesses, while being good stewards in the Zone service area.  To learn more about this Department of Economic Development program, visit the Urban Enterprise Association Website at www.fwuea.org.

Partnerships

The Urban Enterprise Association builds many partnerships to improve the economic and social conditions of the Zone service area.

Beautification Project:
In its second year, the UEA Zone Beautification partnership with the YMCA Youth Services Bureau has been successful in sprucing up highly visible areas of the Zone. For more details on this project, Click here to read about the Urban Enterprise Zone Beautification Project.

Capital Improvements:
This year, the UEA has taken on five major commercial and capitol projects.  The projects are made possible through partnerships with the City of Fort Wayne, City Council, and other members of the community.
